JANUARY JUMPSTART A Class Series Focused on Sustaining a Vibrant Diet in 2011!
January 6th: Setting Intentions, Winter Detoxing, Food and Mood
- 7pm-9pm Class topics: Foods to INCLUDE in a healthful cleansing diet, useful pantry items and specific fruits and vegetables for detoxing. Learn winter self-care techniques, ways to nourishing the adrenal glands, and create delicious and practical recipes to balance your moods with food. Each student takes home their culinary creations!
January 20th: Staying Inspired, Freestyle Meal Planning and Hands on Healthy Cooking
- 7pm-9pm Class topics: Learn how to meal plan on a whim and how to turn one meal into many with ease. Each student creates a meal and walks away with recipes, menu guides, and inspiration to last all year!
Class Series is co-taught by Katie Decker, Holistic Health Counselor and Chef Abby Fammartino. All Classes will be held at Abby's Table at 7pm. Registration is final; payment must be received on the date of the class.
To Be or Not To Be Gluten Free - Monday, September 21st, 2009
Being gluten-free can seem overwhelming without the right information and plan; this class will eliminate the mystery and confusion around being gluten-free. If you are newly diagnosed, suspect that you have gluten intolerance and/or are overwhelmed with the thought of being gluten-free, this class is a valuable resource.
What we will cover:
Understanding gluten and how it may be adversely affecting you and/or your family's health
- How to identify gluten and learn about the sneaky places it hides
- What symptoms to look for and help you determine whether you will benefit from trying a gluten-free lifestyle
- The difference between celiac disease and gluten intolerance and available testing options
- Valuable resources to support your gluten-free lifestyle, including gluten-free substitutions, on-the-go solutions and recipes
- Tips to helping you feel empowered when dining out, communicating with family and friends, plus surviving the holidays gluten-free style.

Tips to Loving Your Gluten Free Life - Thursday, July 24th 2008 - Free!
Have you or someone you know found out that you need to eat gluten-free? Are you uninspired about how to embrace the gluten-free lifestyle? This workshop is an opportunity to learn how to love your gluten-free life. During our time together we will:
- Learn ways to follow a gluten-free diet
- Discuss resources that can support your wheat-free/gluten-free diet
- Cover communication strategies so you can enjoy eating with your family and friends
- Discover ways to promote community to increase the fun factor in your gluten-free life

Whole Foods Health Fair - Saturday, June 7th 2008 - 11am-3pm - Free!
Recipe: Chocolate Macaroons
3 cups coconut flakes
1.5 cups cocoa powder
1 cup agave syrup
1/3 cup coconut butter/oil (solid, in a jar like peanut butter)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp sea salt
Mix everything together in a bowl and form into balls. Use an ice cream scoop and fill about half full.
Put into dehydrator for 12-24 hours, or until crisp on outside and chewy on inside.
